Our Mission

The mission of Church of the Redeemer is to celebrate the love of God in Jesus Christ. As an open and welcoming Episcopal community, we worship, learn and grow together, supporting each other and our world through the generous and creative use of God’s gifts.

A Word of Welcome From the Rector

Church means many things to many people.

The Church may be revered, or it may be disdained. In truth, it deserves both responses, for the church reflects the complexity of our humanness.

Church often brings to mind the practice of rituals, religious seasons and holidays, and Sunday observances.

These things represent us, but they don’t reflect the fundamental nature of who we are as the church or as Church of the Redeemer.

Newcomer Information

Church of the Redeemer is a large, vibrant, community-based parish. It has an extensive music program and dynamic educational opportunities for children and adults. The parish is comprised of persons of all ages who are committed to the centrality of worship, the nurturing of prayerful living, and the call of God that sends us out to the world to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. As part of the Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion, The Redeemer embraces the distinct Anglican vision of the “via media” (middle way): seeking common ground among a wide range of perspectives.

The Redeemer Have To Say

“The Redeemer...what a special place. We felt welcomed from the time we first came through the door. Then, the music...it inspires! The preaching is so very well done, it speaks to our intellect as well as to our spirit. A special place ...rare, in fact: we always leave The Redeemer both stirred and challenged to be better Christians.”

“Our children began singing in the children’s choirs, and that got us in the door. Since then, many things have kept us coming! The thoughtful and principled sermons, the introspection and unity fostered by the liturgy, the energetic adult forums, the spiritually and emotionally inspiring musical worship, and a growing sense of belonging to a greater community have all inspired us to attend The Redeemer.”

Help For Your First Visit

“I knew I wanted to find a place to attend services when I moved back to the area. I had a lot of change and stress in my life at that point and I felt so blessed to have The Redeemer to come to. People were friendly and supportive and generous right away and I’m so, so grateful for that.”
